2012 Nissan Juke 1.6L Petrol · GF12 YTW

The 2012 Nissan Juke’s most recent MOT test on 2026-03-23 confirms it remains roadworthy, though the record reveals an unusual pattern of back-to-back failures in March 2025 and 2024—both without recorded defects. This suggests either administrative errors in the testing process or, more likely, the vehicle was retested immediately after failing minor, non-recorded issues, such as minor tyre tread or lighting faults. The absence of any major advisories or repeated failures for critical components like suspension, brakes, or emissions indicates no obvious mechanical deterioration. However, the repeated retests imply a lack of thorough pre-test maintenance, which could mask underlying wear. The recorded mileage of 93,238 miles over 14 years aligns with typical usage for this age, averaging around 6,660 miles annually. There are no significant gaps or spikes in mileage between tests, though the retests in March 2024 and 2025—just one day apart—highlight inconsistent preparation. The lack of a service history means no direct correlation between mileage and servicing intervals, but the steady progression suggests no extreme neglect or heavy usage. Buyers should verify whether the mileage has been accurately maintained, as discrepancies could indicate odometer tampering or misreporting. Given the absence of recorded defects, the most prudent areas for an in-person inspection focus on components prone to wear at this mileage: the suspension system, particularly coil springs and bushes, which may show fatigue or corrosion after nearly 14 years. Binding rear brakes or uneven brake pad wear could indicate past neglect, despite the MOT’s silence on this—always verify disc thickness and caliper movement. Exhaust emissions should be checked for leaks or catalytic converter efficiency, as these are often overlooked until they fail. Structural integrity, especially around wheel arches and sills, warrants scrutiny for corrosion, as older Juke models are susceptible to rust in these areas. Finally, inspect the tyres for uneven wear or low tread depth, as the retests suggest basic upkeep may have been inconsistent.
