1931 Austin 0.8L Petrol · GV 611

The 1931 Austin maintains a perfectly stable roadworthiness status based on its recent inspection history. The most recent test in July 2023 passed with no defects recorded, continuing a long-term trend of clean results. This consistency suggests that the vehicle has been well-maintained and kept free of significant mechanical or safety failures throughout the documented testing periods. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a vehicle of 95 years old, averaging approximately 159 miles per year. There is a significant gap in usage, most notably the nine-year period between 2014 and 2023 where the car covered only 16 miles, from 15,077 to 15,093 miles. This indicates the vehicle is likely stored under cover and used only for special occasions, which minimizes general wear and tear on the drivetrain and engine components. Because the MOT history shows no recurring faults or adviseories, a buyer should prioritize a physical inspection of areas that degrade through age rather than use. Particular attention should be paid to structural rust on the chassis and bodywork, which often affects vintage cars that sit for long periods. Additionally, the condition of rubber components, seals, and brake lines should be verified, as these can become brittle over decades regardless of low mileage.
