2016 Mercedes-Benz C 2.1L Diesel · GX66 XMV

The vehicle demonstrates stable roadworthiness with no defects recorded in its most recent 2026 MOT test at 48,259 miles. All prior tests from 2022 to 2026 also showed passing results with no recorded issues, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical concerns. The absence of advisories or failures across six consecutive annual assessments suggests the car has been well-maintained, with no evidence of deteriorating systems or recurring faults. The mileage pattern reflects low annual usage, averaging approximately 4,826 miles per year over the vehicle’s 10-year lifespan. The MOT records show gradual increases of around 4,000–4,500 miles annually, with no abrupt spikes or prolonged periods of inactivity. This steady accumulation aligns with the low overall mileage, implying the car has likely been driven sparingly or stored for extended intervals. The clean MOT history supports this, as no wear-related issues were flagged despite the age. A buyer should conduct a physical inspection of suspension components, particularly bushes and coil springs, which can degrade over time even without MOT failures. Check for corrosion under the chassis, as low mileage may not expose rust hidden by infrequent use. Verify the condition of brake discs and calipers, as binding or uneven wear could develop without regular driving. While the MOT records show no faults, the vehicle’s age and mileage suggest potential hidden issues in non-visual systems, warranting a thorough pre-purchase check.
