2002 Toyota Corolla 1.4L Petrol · GY02 AHU

The vehicle maintains a high level of roadworthiness with a remarkably stable maintenance trend over the last four years. The most recent test conducted in October 2024 at 98,623 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This consistent streak of clean passes suggests that the vehicle has been well-maintained and is not currently suffering from the progressive mechanical failures typically seen in cars of this age. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 24-year-old Toyota, averaging approximately 4,100 miles per year. Between October 2021 and October 2024, the car covered only 3,186 miles, showing a steady progression of roughly 1,000 miles per annual interval. This low usage indicates short-distance trips or infrequent use, which reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components. However, such low mileage can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and brake-related issues due to long periods of inactivity. Despite the clean MOT history, a physical inspection must prioritize components affected by age and low-mileage use. A buyer should check the chassis for structural corrosion along the sills and wheel pans, as these areas often suffer if not driven frequently. The inspector should also examine the suspension bushes and coil springs for cracking, which occurs due to time regardless of mileage. Additionally, the brakes should be checked for seized calipers or pitting on the discs, common in vehicles that sit stationary for extended periods.
