1991 Morgan Plus 8 3.9L Petrol · H402 AAB

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, evidenced by a consistent history of clean MOT results. The most recent test on 30 May 2025 at 50,728 miles passed with no defects or advisories, indicating that the car currently meets a high standard of operational readiness. Following a single failure in July 2018, the vehicle has maintained a flawless record for over seven years, suggesting a proactive approach to mechanical maintenance and preventative care. The mileage pattern reflects exceptionally low usage for a 35-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 1,450 miles per annum. Data shows significant gaps in activity between April 2021 and May 2025, where the car covered only 117 miles over four years. This rate of use suggests the vehicle is likely kept as a collector's item stored in a dry environment for long periods. While low mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it often increases the risk of rubber-based parts degrading or fluid-related corrosion occurring due to inactivity rather than active mechanical stress. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and lower bodywork, as long periods of standing can lead to moisture retention in hidden cavities. Examine the exhaust and brake lines for signs of surface corrosion, and check the suspension bushes for perished rubber or cracking from lack of movement. Given the low mileage, verify the age of the tyres and the condition of the seals, as these components often perish through age long before they wear out through use.
