1993 Honda CBR400 0.4L Petrol · H675 GEC

The vehicle is currently without a valid MOT certificate, as the last recorded test expired on 14 July 2023. The most recent entry from 14 July 2022 at 39,969 miles shows a clean pass with no defects or advisories. While this suggests the bike was in a roadworthy state four years ago, the lack of testing data since 2022 makes it impossible to determine the current mechanical trend or stability. The recorded mileage of 39,969 miles is exceptionally low for a 1993 model, averaging roughly 1,211 miles per year. This pattern typically indicates a vehicle that has spent significant periods in storage rather than consistent use. Because the mileage remained static at 39,969 between the 2022 test and the current date, the bike has likely been stationary for several years. A buyer must prioritise a thorough inspection of components that degrade during long-term standing. Perished tyres and seized brake calipers are common risks for low-mileage bikes that have sat idle. The fuel system should be checked for varnish or corrosion in the tank, and the battery will almost certainly require replacement. Inspect the suspension forks for leaking seals and check the condition of the chain and sprockets for surface corrosion. Given the age of the machine, a close examination of the frame and swingarm for structural rust is essential. The engine should be checked for oil leaks and the cooling system flushed to ensure no blockages have formed during the period of inactivity.
