2002 Audi A4 2.4L Petrol · HG02 YVP

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, evidenced by five consecutive MOT passes without any recorded failures. The most recent test conducted on 26 November 2025 at 164,630 miles showed no defects or advisories, indicating that the car currently meets the minimum legal safety standards. This clean record suggests the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that prevents immediate mechanical or structural failures from manifesting during the annual testing process. The mileage data reveals unusually low usage patterns over the last five years. Between November 2021 at 164,579 miles and November 2025 at 164,630 miles, the vehicle covered only 551 miles. This averages to roughly 110 miles per year, which is significantly below the national average for a twenty-four-year-old vehicle. While this reduces wear on drivetrain components and suspension, such long periods of standing can lead to secondary issues such as seized calipers, perished fluid, or the degradation of rubber seals. Despite the clean MOT history, a physical inspection must focus on the effects of long-term inactivity. A buyer should check the brake discs for heavy corrosion and ensure the calipers are not binding, as low mileage often leads to uneven wear. The age of the vehicle means that suspension bushes should be inspected for cracking or tearing, as rubber perish over time regardless of miles driven. Given the vehicle's age, a thorough check of the chassis for structural corrosion remains a priority, as the MOT test does not always detect surface rust that has not yet compromised structural integrity.
