2015 Land Rover Discovery 3.0L Diesel · HG65 XOU

The vehicle maintains a roadworthy status, though the maintenance trend shows a shift toward suspension wear-related issues. The most recent test in October 2023 at 69,935 miles identified a worn offside front lower suspension arm pin or bush. While this did not result in an immediate failure at that time, it indicates that the rubber-bound components are beginning to degrade after age. This follows a clean record in 2022, suggesting the vehicle is currently experiencing typical wear consistent with its age rather than neglect. The mileage pattern is consistent with an eleven-year-old Land Rover, averaging approximately 6,350 miles per year. There is a notable gap of over 11,000 miles between June 2021 and October 2022, followed by an 8,000-mile interval between the 2022 and 2023 tests. This low annual mileage generally reduces the mechanical stress on the drivetrain and engine, but the long intervals between tests can lead to the drying out of rubber components and suspension bushings, which explains the findings despite the low distance driven. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the front suspension, specifically checking for play in the offside lower arm as flagged by the last tester. The 2021 failure due to sidewall cuts on tyres and a defective stop lamp suggests the previous owner overlooked basic consumable checks, so the current state of the tyres should be verified. Given the age of the vehicle, the inspection should also check for corrosion on the chassis and the integrity of the air suspension system, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from age-related perish of seals rather than mechanical wear.
