2006 Toyota RAV 4 2.0L Diesel · HHZ 5448

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on its recent MOT history. The most recent inspection conducted on 21 March 2026 at 177,819 miles passed with no defects recorded, indicating that the car currently meets the minimum safety standards. This follows a successful pass in February 2025, which corrected a failure occurring just three weeks prior. This sequence suggests that the current owner is proactive in addressing identified faults to maintain a valid certificate. The mileage pattern is consistent with a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,900 miles per year. Between September 2022 at 146,892 miles and March 2026 at 177,819 miles, the RAV covered over 30,000 miles, showing steady and predictable usage. The 10,225-mile gap between the February 2025 and March 2026 tests indicates the vehicle is driven regularly, which often helps prevent the degradation of mechanical components associated with long periods of standing. While the recent records show clean passes, a buyer must focus physical inspection on high-mileage components common to this generation of Toyota RAV4. The 177,819-mile mark necessitates a thorough check for structural corrosion on the rear subframe and exhaust system, where rust often accumulates over two decades. You should also inspect the control arm bushes and coil springs, as these frequently wear out at this mileage. Given the lack of recorded advisories, checking for binding brake calipers or worn suspension joints remains an essential manual step before purchase.
