2012 Lexus IS 2.5L Petrol · HK12 TOJ

Based on the MOT history, this 2012 Lexus IS presents a very strong case for reliability. The most recent test on 12 February 2026 resulted in a pass with absolutely no defects recorded. This clean bill of health is consistent, as the vehicle has passed every MOT since 2022 without a single advisory or failure noted. The mechanical trend appears exceptionally stable. Over the last four years, the mileage has increased steadily from roughly 59,000 to 79,000 miles, averaging about 5,600 miles per year. This consistency suggests the car has been used regularly rather than left to deteriorate in storage, yet the annual mileage is significantly lower than the average for a vehicle of this age. While the low mileage is generally a positive, it introduces specific risks related to age rather than wear. Components like rubber hoses, drive belts, and tyres can degrade over time even without heavy use. Since the MOT records show no defects, these items are currently safe, but they may be nearing the end of their serviceable life due to age. You should focus your inspection on these age-related consumables.
