2005 Vauxhall Movano 2.5L Diesel · HN05 XED

The Vauxhall Movano passed its most recent MOT on 8 August 2025 at 115,862 miles with no defects recorded, and the maintenance trend across the supplied history is stable with no recurring advisories or mechanical faults. The test cycle shows two clean passes either side of a pair of anomalous 2025 entries where the vehicle failed and passed on the same day at identical mileage with no defects logged, indicating an administrative retest rather than a genuine roadworthiness concern. Recorded mileage sits at 115,862 against a 21-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 5,517 miles per year. The odometer moved only 1,534 miles between the July 2023 test at 114,328 miles and the August 2024 pass at 115,452 miles, then just 410 miles to the August 2025 pass. Such low annual accumulation suggests extended standing periods, which commonly allows corrosion, seized brake components, and degraded suspension bushes to develop unseen despite a clean MOT sheet. A buyer should physically inspect brake discs and calipers for binding or surface rust from disuse, and check coil springs and suspension bushes for perishing. The MOT data flags no structural integrity issues or exhaust emissions failures, but the same-day fail-pass in August 2025 with zero defects warrants confirmation that no outstanding test refusal existed. Given the sparse, defect-free record, previous owners appear to have kept the van lightly used rather than neglected, yet the low mileage masks risks typical of stationary vehicles. A pre-purchase check beneath the chassis for corrosion and a road test for drivetrain smoothness remain prudent before commitment.
