2011 Mercedes-Benz C 1.8L Petrol · HV61 AXA

The vehicle remains roadworthy but the maintenance trend shows a shift from minor mechanical wear to emerging structural concerns. The most recent test in November 2025 at 180,174 miles identified corrosion on both the offside and nearside rear subframe brackets. While the car passed the inspection, the presence of rust on structural mounting points indicates that age is beginning to affect the chassis integrity, following the clean records seen in 2022 and 2023. The mileage pattern is consistent with high-frequency use, averaging approximately 12,000 miles per year. Between November 2021 and November 2024, the vehicle covered 27,458 miles, suggesting steady and regular road use. This high mileage puts significant strain on the drivetrain and suspension components. The recorded non-excessive oil leak in the 2024 test at 172,644 miles is a common occurrence for an engine of this age but suggests that seals or gaskets are reaching their terminal service interval. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the rear subframe to determine if the corrosion noted in 2025 is merely surface-level or deep structural scaling that will require welding. The front suspension also requires close scrutiny, as the 2021 record flagged deteriorated anti-roll bar linkage dust covers and a wheel bearing with play, which are components prone to failure if not monitored. Given the high mileage, the condition of the rubber bushings and the state of the dampers are vital to ensure the previous faults have not developed into more costly mechanical failures.
