2003 Yamaha XJR 1300 1.3L Petrol · HX53 JVT

The vehicle maintains a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistent history of clean passes. The most recent test conducted on 14 March 2026 at 31,102 miles resulted in no defects or advisories, continuing a stable trend observed over the last five years. This consistency suggests a proactive maintenance approach where the mechanical and structural components remain within acceptable operating parameters without any recurring failures or deteriorating conditions. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 23-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 1,350 miles per year. Between March 2022 at 27,302 miles and March 2026 at 31,102 miles, the bike covered only 3,800 miles over four years. While this low usage indicates minimal wear on the drivetrain and engine internal components, the infrequent interval between use can sometimes lead to age-related degradation of perishables, such as rubber seals or fluid breakdown, which the MOT test does not necessarily detect. Given the absence of recorded faults in the MOT history, a physical inspection should focus on risks associated with low-mileage storage. A buyer must check for dry rot in the fork seals, perished brake hoses, and cracking on tyres that may have sufficient tread but perished. Inspect the frame for signs of corrosion, particularly around pivot points and mounting bolts, as long-term standing does not prevent atmospheric surface rust. Ensure the chain and sprockets are not seized, as infrequent use often leads to uneven wear on the links.
