The 2013 Volkswagen Golf presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 18 February 2025 at 49,279 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean results since the October 2022 failure. The vehicle shows no recurring advisories or escalating mechanical concerns across the available history. Recorded mileage stands at 49,279 against an age of roughly thirteen years, equating to about 3,791 miles per year. The October 2022 failure at 39,521 miles was followed four days later by a pass at identical mileage with no defects logged, indicating the initial failure related to a minor rectifiable item rather than structural fault. Annual accumulation stayed low and consistent: 39,720 miles in February 2023, 44,722 in January 2024, and 49,279 in February 2025. The sparse, clean record gives little evidence of neglect, though long idle periods implied by low use warrant scrutiny for perished seals and flat-spotted tyres. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the vehicle's standing time between tests. The 2022 failure with no defects recorded offers no clue to the fault cleared, so verify the VOSA failure reason if available. Check underneath for corrosion on structural members and sills, as DVSA testers issued no advisories that would otherwise flag early rust. Given the low annual mileage and clean pass history, previous owners appear to have kept basic upkeep current. The four-day turnaround from fail to pass in October 2022 suggests prompt attention to the tester's concern rather than deferred repair.
