2010 BMW 1 Series 2.0L Diesel · J55 JLA

The vehicle currently holds no valid MOT pass, having failed the most recent test on 19 September 2023 at 95,442 miles with no defects formally recorded. This leaves the roadworthiness status unresolved and the maintenance trend impossible to assess from the data supplied. The only prior test, passed on 21 September 2022 at 89,290 miles with no advisories, shows a clean but sparse history that gives no evidence of worsening or improving condition. The recorded mileage of 95,442 against a 2010 build date equates to roughly 5,965 miles per year, which is low for the age. Between the two tests the car covered just 6,152 miles in twelve months, confirming light annual use. A gap of nearly three years now separates the last test from today's date of 8 July 2026, meaning the car has either been off the road or run without a valid certificate for an extended period. Because the 2023 failure carries no listed defects, the DVSA record offers no pointer to specific mechanical faults such as worn suspension bushes, corroded structure, or failing brake components. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity, underbody corrosion, and brake disc and caliper condition given the vehicle's sixteen-year age and unknown standing period. The absent advisories on the 2022 pass should not be read as proof of sound upkeep, only that the tester logged nothing. Given the unexplained failure and long lapse since testing, treat this BMW as unverified until a current MOT and independent mechanical check confirm its condition.
