1992 Kawasaki EN500 0.5L Petrol · J762 CWA

The most recent MOT entry dated 2 August 2023 at 35,614 miles shows a pass with no defects recorded, though the same date also logs a failure with no defects listed. This duplicate outcome on one day points to an administrative or data-recording anomaly rather than a clear mechanical fault. On the evidence available, the maintenance trend cannot be judged as worsening or improving; the single clean pass suggests the machine presented as roadworthy at that time, roughly three years before today's date. The recorded mileage of 35,614 miles against a 1992 model year gives an average of around 1,047 miles per year, confirming very light use for a 34-year-old machine. The MOT history contains only the August 2023 entries at identical mileage, so no accumulation pattern or gap can be traced across prior years. Sparse records of this kind leave long periods unverified and imply either careful low-mileage storage or simply missing test data. A buyer should physically inspect the EN500 for corrosion on the frame and exhaust, given its age and likely standing periods. Check suspension bushes, fork seals, and brake calipers for stiffness or leaks, as low-mileage machines often suffer from perished rubber and seized components through inactivity. Confirm the August 2023 failure anomaly with DVSA before purchase, since no defect reason appears on the record. Examine tyre sidewalls for cracking and verify chain and sprocket wear, as these consumables degrade with time rather than distance on a lightly used bike.
