2000 Honda GL1500 1.5L Petrol · J7 FFG

The vehicle currently holds a roadworthy status following a clean pass on 31 May 2025 at 7,628 miles. The maintenance trend appears stable, though the history shows a pattern of failure immediately preceding each successful test. While the most recent inspection recorded no defects, the recurring failures in March 2024 and May 2025 suggest the owner only addresses issues when they fail a formal test rather than performing proactive preventative maintenance. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 26-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 293 miles per year. Between March 2024 and May 2025, the vehicle covered only 1,320 miles over a fourteen-month period. This low usage indicates the bike likely sits stationary for extended periods. While this limits mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine, it often introduces risks related to the degradation of rubber-based components, dry seals, and internal corrosion on brake surfaces which are not always reflected in mileage figures alone. A buyer must prioritize a physical inspection of components associated with long-term storage and low use. Check for perished rubber in fuel lines, brake hoses, and the tyres, which can fail despite low mileage. Examine the brake discs for surface pitting or corrosion and ensure the calipers are not seized due to inactivity. Given the previous MOT failures without specific defect details listed, verify the structural integrity of the frame and check for hidden rust, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from environmental decay rather than mechanical wear and tear.
