1992 Ford Sierra 2.0L Petrol · J871 ERB

The 1992 Ford Sierra presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 27 October 2025 at 33,654 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the preceding four tests from 2016 through 2021 also passed cleanly. No advisories or failures appear anywhere in the DVSA history, so the documented condition shows no worsening or recurring fault pattern. The mileage record shows exceptionally low use for a 34-year-old vehicle. Between the 21 July 2016 test at 33,230 miles and the 27 October 2025 test at 33,654 miles, the car covered only 424 miles across nine years, averaging under 50 miles per year. Earlier gaps are evident: a near two-year gap separates the 7 October 2021 and 13 December 2019 tests, yet only 155 miles accrued. Such sparse, clean data implies the Sierra spent long periods stationary under prior ownership rather than seeing regular road use. A buyer should still inspect the Sierra in person for issues the MOT record cannot capture. Long standing periods invite perished rubber suspension bushes, seized brake calipers, and structural corrosion on chassis rails and sills even when emissions and lighting pass. The original 1992 coil springs and brake discs may show age-related fatigue unseen at test. Verify the odometer against service stamps and V5C history given the unusually low figure. Check underneath for rust at subframe mounts and check tyres for sidewall cracking from inactivity. The clean MOT trail suggests careful storage, but static decay remains the chief risk on a vehicle of this age and mileage.
