1992 Honda 0.4L Petrol · J887 HGC

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, with no defects recorded in its most recent MOT on 2026-04-09 at 43,545 miles. The maintenance trend remains stable, as all three MOT tests—spanning from 2024-03-15 to 2026-04-09—showed no failures or advisories. The absence of recurring issues suggests the previous owner maintained the car to a standard meeting legal requirements, though the lack of detailed defect reports limits insight into potential underlying concerns. The mileage pattern reflects minimal annual usage, with 43,545 miles recorded over 34 years—a rate of approximately 1,281 miles per year. This low accumulation aligns with the vehicle’s age but raises questions about long-term storage or infrequent operation. The gap between the 2024-03-15 test (40,174 miles) and 2025-02-28 test (40,615 miles) indicates a 441-mile increase over 11 months, followed by a 931-mile rise to 43,545 miles by 2026-04-09. Such sparse mileage growth may correlate with reduced mechanical wear but could also signal periods of inactivity, increasing the risk of component degradation. A buyer should inspect the suspension system for aged bushes or coil springs, as prolonged inactivity can cause stiffness or failure. Brake components, including discs and calipers, should be checked for corrosion or binding, particularly if the vehicle has not been driven regularly. Structural integrity remains unaddressed in the MOT records, so a thorough underbody examination for rust or panel damage is advisable. The clean MOT history does not indicate major faults, but the vehicle’s low usage warrants scrutiny of systems prone to disuse-related issues.
