2013 Volkswagen Amarok 2.0L Diesel · J900 ABE

The vehicle passed the latest MOT on 4 February 2026 at 89,458 miles with no defects recorded, confirming current roadworthiness and indicating a stable maintenance trend. The preceding MOT on 9 January 2025 also passed without defects, showing consistent compliance and no evidence of worsening or improving conditions since the previous test. The mileage pattern reflects roughly 6,881 miles per year, typical for a 13‑year‑old vehicle. Recorded mileage rose from 63,163 miles in April 2019 to 89,458 miles in February 2026, an increase of 26,295 miles over seven years, averaging about 3,756 miles annually, which aligns with normal usage. Intervals between tests are regular, with no abrupt jumps, suggesting steady vehicle use and maintenance. Recurring advisories include worn anti‑roll bar bushes noted in January 2024, near‑side and off‑side front tyres worn close to legal limits in January 2023, and tyre wear patterns indicating possible alignment or driving style issues. The 2020 failure highlighted parking brake efficiency below 50 % and inoperative brakes on both sides, a serious mechanical fault that was rectified before subsequent passes. Suspension components such as front bushes and rear suspension bushes have shown wear, and the 2016 test noted inner‑edge tyre wear, suggesting possible suspension mis‑alignment. A buyer should inspect the parking brake mechanism, checking for binding calipers, functional rear and front brake discs, and verifying the condition of suspension bushes and coil springs. The history of tyre wear on inner edges and edge wear suggests checking wheel alignment and tyre condition, while the anti‑roll bar bush wear indicates a need to examine anti‑roll bar links and mounting points. Any signs of rust on the chassis or exhaust should be assessed, though none were reported. Overall, the vehicle is presently roadworthy, but a thorough in‑person inspection of the braking system, suspension components, and tyre wear patterns is essential to confirm the longevity of these parts.
