2009 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · J99 UCE

The 2009 Ford Transit presents as roadworthy following a pass at 158,112 miles on 4 July 2025, just four days after a failure on 30 June 2025 at identical mileage with no defects logged. The maintenance trend is stable with no recorded mechanical advisories or faults across the last three years. The repeated pass-fail-pass pattern within days suggests administrative or presentation issues at the testing station rather than worsening vehicle condition. Annual mileage sits at roughly 9,300 miles, typical for a 17-year-old van. The records show 149,969 miles in July 2023, 154,498 at the failed test in July 2024, and 158,112 by July 2025. That is about 4,500 miles between the 2023 and 2024 tests and 3,600 over the following year, a consistent light-commercial usage profile with no sudden accumulation spikes. The DVSA data flags no corrosion, suspension wear, brake defects, or exhaust concerns at any stage. Two failed tests with zero defects recorded imply the vehicle was presented without a required document or minor non-mechanical item rather than a breakdown in upkeep. Previous owners appear to have kept the mechanical side clean. A buyer should still confirm structural integrity beneath the body, check for rust on chassis rails and sills, and inspect brake discs, calipers, and suspension bushes in person. The clean record offers no red flags, but a Transit of this age and mileage warrants a physical check of consumables and load-bearing components before purchase.
