The vehicle remains roadworthy but the maintenance record shows a worsening trend regarding structural and component corrosion. While it passed its most recent test in July 2026 at 62,725 miles, the tester identified a significant increase in advisories compared to previous years. The progression from a clean record in 2023 to multiple corrosion warnings across the suspension arms, fuel filler neck, and exhaust system indicates that the vehicle is beginning to suffer from age. The recurring issue of rear coil spring corrosion is a persistent fault that has remained unresolved despite the low mechanical usage. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 17-year-old vehicle, recording only 62,725 miles. This represents an average of approximately 3,700 miles per year. The data shows consistent low-mileage usage, for example, only 3,622 miles covered between July 2025 and July 2026. However, this low usage often correlates with the observed corrosion issues, as vehicles that sit for long periods are more susceptible to moisture-related rust on underbody components compared to those in in regular use. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the underbody, specifically focusing on the lower suspension arms and the rear mounting points. The July 2026 report noted corrosion in these areas which, while not yet weakened enough to fail, suggests the structural integrity of the chassis components is being slowly compromised. The central exhaust flange is heavily corroded and will likely require imminent replacement to prevent a future failure. Additionally, the rear coil springs should be checked for thinning or cracks, as they have been flagged as corroded in five consecutive tests since 2021.
