2012 MINI (R60) 1.6L Petrol · JC04 COX

The 2012 MINI Countryman (R60) presents a stable and sound roadworthiness status. The most recent DVSA test on 6 February 2026 at 83,692 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded. Across the five available annual tests from February 2022 to February 2026, the vehicle cleared every examination without a single advisory or failure. The maintenance trend is clearly stable, with no worsening mechanical or structural issues emerging in the record. The mileage pattern shows light use for a 14-year-old vehicle. The record opened at 58,006 miles on 4 February 2022 and closed at 83,692 miles on 6 February 2026, a total gain of 25,686 miles over four years. That equates to roughly 6,421 miles per year, consistent with the long-term average of 5,978 miles annually. No rapid accumulation or suspicious gaps appear between tests; the intervals are evenly spaced and the odometer progression is linear. The clean history offers little evidence of neglected consumables or deferred repairs. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection despite the unblemished MOT trail. Low-mileage cars of this age often sit unused for weeks, which accelerates rubber degradation in suspension bushes and causes surface corrosion on brake discs and underbody members. The tester logged no advisories on coil springs, subframe mounts, or exhaust emissions, but these components on an R60 built in 2012 warrant hands-on checks for structural rust and worn trailing arm bushes. Verify the service history matches the recorded mileages and confirm the timing chain tensioner and power steering fluid meet MINI specifications. The MOT data implies a careful prior owner who kept basic upkeep current, yet official tests do not measure intermittent drivetrain faults or internal engine wear. A pre-purchase mechanical appraisal remains the only way to validate the clean paper record.
