2022 Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 AMG Line Premium + 4M Electric · JN04 ABY

The most recent DVSA MOT, carried out on 2 December 2025, was recorded as a full pass with no advisory or failure items noted. With only a single MOT entry available, the absence of defects suggests that the vehicle has been maintained to a satisfactory standard and that there have been no emerging safety‑critical issues up to that date. In the absence of any negative trend, the maintenance picture can be described as stable, and the car appears to have been kept in road‑worthy condition at least through the last inspection. At four years old the EQC has logged 18 387 miles, which works out to just under 4 600 miles per annum – considerably below the UK average for a similarly aged family SUV. Such low annual mileage often points to relatively light usage, possibly including extended periods of storage or predominantly short‑haul journeys. Light use generally reduces wear on consumables such as brake pads, discs and suspension components, but it can also allow corrosion to develop on brake rotors and calipers if the vehicle has been stationary for long stretches, and it may accelerate the ageing of rubber components such as tyre sidewalls and seals. For a prospective buyer the first visual checks should focus on the condition of the tyres: verify tread depth is above the legal minimum, look for any cracking, sidewall perishing or uneven wear that could indicate mis‑alignment or worn suspension bushes. Examine the 12‑volt auxiliary battery for signs of sulphation and confirm that it holds a healthy charge, as low‑usage vehicles can suffer from battery drain. Inspect the under‑body for any surface rust, especially around the wheel arches, sills and suspension mounting points, and check that the high‑voltage coolant and brake fluid reservoirs are topped up and free of contamination, bearing in mind that fluid degradation is time‑based as well as mileage‑based. Finally, a dynamic test drive should be used to listen for any clunking or squeaking from the front and rear suspension, which could reveal deteriorated bushings or worn coil springs. Apply the brakes firmly to feel for any pulsation, shudder or uneven pedal effort that would suggest warped discs, rusted pads or sticking calipers. Given the vehicle’s electric drivetrain, request a diagnostic read‑out of the high‑voltage battery health and software version, and verify that the service book contains regular interval servicing, particularly any scheduled coolant and brake fluid changes. Confirm that any recall work specific to the EQC model year has been completed, and ensure that the dealer can provide a full service history to corroborate the clean MOT record.
