2024 Renault Austral Tcno Esprt Alpne HEV A 1.2L Hybrid electric (clean) · JO71 DUG

With no MOT test results on file for this 2024 Renault Austral E-Tech Hybrid, there is no DVSA roadworthiness evidence to draw upon. The vehicle is still under three years old and therefore newly outside the mandatory first-test window, which means it has not yet been subjected to the standardised annual inspection that would normally flag emerging defects in braking, suspension, lighting, or exhaust systems. For a prospective buyer, this absence of data means the mechanical history of this particular example cannot be confirmed through official records, and any assessment must rely entirely on physical inspection rather than documented test outcomes. Mileage context is equally limited, as no readings have been recorded within the MOT database for this registration. Given the vehicle is a 2024 model, it is plausible that it has been driven modestly, but without verified odometer readings it is not possible to calculate an annual accumulation rate, identify any testing gaps, or detect irregularities that might suggest clocking, prolonged storage, or unusually high use. Hybrids of this type that cover very low mileages can develop specific issues unrelated to wear, including 12V auxiliary battery degradation from short cycles and infrequent use of the high-voltage system, while high-mileage examples would warrant closer scrutiny of the regenerative braking components and rear suspension. In the absence of recorded advisories or failures, pre-purchase guidance must focus on the areas most likely to present early concerns on a Renault Austral of this generation. The multi-link rear suspension has been known to develop knocking or clonking noises over poor road surfaces as the trailing arm bushes begin to consolidate, so particular attention should be paid to any impact-driven thuds from the rear axle during a test drive. The brake system should be evaluated for smooth pedal feel without sponginess, as the blend between regenerative and friction braking can sometimes produce inconsistent bite, and the rear discs and pads should be inspected for any signs of corrosion or uneven wear given the relatively light duty the friction brakes experience in hybrid operation. Visual inspection should concentrate on the underbody and wheel arch liners, as the Austral sits low at the front and can accumulate stone-chip damage and surface corrosion around the subframe and suspension pick-up points. The tyres should be checked for even shoulder wear, which can indicate alignment drift, and the engine bay should be examined for any signs of oil misting or coolant staining, particularly around the hybrid system components and the standard combustion ancillaries. Finally, confirming full dealership or specialist service history, verifying the operation of all hybrid-specific dashboard functions, and ensuring the high-voltage system reports no faults via a diagnostic read-out will be essential steps in compensating for the complete absence of MOT-recorded data.
