2016 Fiat Panda POP 1.2L Petrol · JXZ 6565

The 2016 Fiat Panda Pop has demonstrated a consistent roadworthiness record over its most recent MOT cycles, passing all tests without defects or advisories since its last inspection on July 9, 2025. This clean history suggests no recurring mechanical issues have been overlooked, though the absence of advisories does not preclude wear that hasn’t yet reached MOT failure thresholds. The most recent test, conducted at 54,022 miles, confirms the vehicle remains compliant with current UK standards for emissions, brakes, suspension, and structural integrity. However, the lack of advisories in prior tests also implies that any potential wear—such as suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake caliper binding—has not yet progressed to a fail-safe level. Buyers should treat this as a baseline for further scrutiny rather than a guarantee of long-term reliability. The recorded mileage of 54,022 miles over a decade—approximately 5,400 miles annually—indicates unusually light usage for a vehicle of this age. The gaps between tests reveal no rapid mileage accumulation; instead, the car appears to have been stored or driven infrequently. For example, between the 2022 and 2023 tests, the odometer only advanced by 3,773 miles in roughly 10 months, a pattern repeated in subsequent intervals. While low mileage typically reduces wear on high-stress components like brakes and drivetrain, prolonged inactivity can accelerate corrosion in suspension mounts, wheel bearings, and underbody panels. The lack of advisories in recent tests does not rule out hidden deterioration—particularly in areas exposed to moisture or road salt—so a thorough inspection of these zones is essential. Given the clean MOT history, the primary focus for an in-person inspection should centre on components prone to corrosion and wear in low-mileage, stored vehicles. Examine the suspension for perished bushes, cracked coil springs, or rusted mounting points, as these are often overlooked until failure. The brake system warrants scrutiny for uneven pad wear, binding calipers, or corroded flex hoses, especially if the vehicle has been stationary for extended periods. Underbody inspection is critical: check for rust penetration in the sills, subframe, and exhaust system, as salt ingress can compromise structural integrity even with minimal movement. Tyre condition should also be verified, as the absence of MOT advisories does not confirm recent tread depth or sidewall integrity. Finally, test the exhaust emissions system for leaks or catalytic converter efficiency, as these can degrade silently over time. The vehicle’s history suggests no immediate red flags, but these areas demand careful assessment to confirm its true condition.
