1992 Yamaha XJ650 0.6L Petrol · K267 GWR

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on the available MOT history. The most recent test conducted on May 6, 2025 at 10,818 miles passed with no defects, indicating that the motorcycle currently meets all statutory requirements for road use. This follows a clean result in 2010, suggesting that despite the age of the machine, the mechanical components have been maintained sufficiently to pass recent operational checks. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 34-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 318 miles per year. There is a significant fourteen-year gap between the May 2011 and May 2025 tests, during which the vehicle covered only 2,245 miles. This pattern suggests the bike spent long periods in storage or remained stationary. While low mileage reduces mechanical wear on the engine and drivetrain, it often invites age-related degradation of rubber components, perished seals, and internal fluid chemistry which are not captured by a standard MOT test. A physical inspection must focus on components affected by long-term standing rather than mileage. The 2011 test noted front brake pads were near the minimum limit, and while these were likely replaced since, a buyer should check the caliper pistons for seizing or brake fluid corrosion. Given the long intervals between tests, inspect the tyres for flat spots or cracking, fork seals for leaks, and the fuel system for delamination. The structural integrity should also be verified for surface rust, as low usage does not prevent atmospheric corrosion over over three decades.
