2007 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L Petrol · KF07 FAJ

The vehicle is roadworthy but presents a critical maintenance trend: the most recent MOT (2024-03-08) passed on full mileage, whereas the most recent failure occurred in February 2024 at 104,955 miles, indicating a significant gap in recorded history. This suggests the vehicle has not been serviced recently, as the failure occurred after the last valid inspection date. The maintenance history shows a distinct pattern of failure rather than stable, worsening, or improving conditions. The most recent failure, occurring in February 2024, was caused by nearside rear stop lamp issues, exhaust emissions, and parking brake efficiency, which are all serious mechanical risks that require immediate attention. The mileage accumulation of over 100,000 miles over roughly 19 years, averaging approximately 5,500 miles annually, is concerning. While this mileage is low for a 2007 model, it is not consistent with typical usage patterns. The rapid mileage increase suggests the vehicle may have been driven for extended periods or experienced frequent wear on consumables, suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components. This accumulation of wear is particularly problematic given the lack of a valid MOT record, as the vehicle is in a state of potential imminent failure without any documented maintenance history to suggest otherwise. In conclusion, the buyer must inspect the vehicle for structural integrity and mechanical risk factors immediately. The recurring faults include nearside front and rear stop lamp failures, which are common in older vehicles but indicate specific wear that needs addressing. The oil leak, while not excessive, must be monitored closely as it can lead to catastrophic failure. Given the failure history and the lack of a valid MOT, this vehicle is not roadworthy and requires immediate professional assessment and potential repair before being sold or driven.
