2016 Toyota Prius 1.8L Hybrid electric (clean) · KH16 CBV

This Toyota Prius presents as mechanically stable with a clean roadworthiness record. The most recent MOT on 4 November 2025 at 86,701 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a pattern of consistent passes, suggesting the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that avoids common failure points. The mileage history shows a significant and rapid increase in usage over a short period. Between 30 April 2024 at 23,221 miles and 4 November 2025 at 86,701 miles, the vehicle covered 63,480 miles in approximately 18 months. This average of over 3,500 miles per month is far higher than the overall lifetime average of 8,670 miles per year. Such a sharp spike in mileage often indicates a period of intensive use, such as private hire or long-distance commuting. Despite the lack of recorded faults, the sudden increase in mileage necessitates a targeted physical inspection. A buyer should check the condition of the brake discs and pads, as the high intensity of use since early 2024 likely accelerated the wear of these consumables. The suspension bushes and coil springs should also be examined for fatigue, as the rapid accumulation of miles puts more stress on the chassis than a typical low-mileage example. The absence of any advisories across five tests is unusual for a ten-year-old vehicle. While the record is clean, a technician should verify the health of the hybrid battery and the condition of the tyre treads. Given the mileage jump, ensuring the oil and transmission fluids were changed to match the actual usage rather than the chronological age is a priority for any prospective owner.
