2022 Volkswagen ID4 Life 1.7L Electric · KM09 DOG

A consistent record of clean roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with the most recent MOT passed on 15 January 2026 showing no defects. The testing history indicates a stable pattern of compliance, as evidenced by the previous successful test on 02 September 2025 which also returned no recorded defects or advisories. This lack of reported failures or advisory items across the available testing periods suggests that the primary mechanical components subject to MOT inspection have met the required standards without recorded issues. The vehicle's mileage profile shows an accumulation of 30,705 miles over approximately four years, which equates to an average annual usage of roughly 7,676 miles. This rate of use is consistent with typical domestic driving patterns for a vehicle of this age. From a mechanical perspective, this level of mileage suggests that components such as suspension bushes, brake discs, and tyres have not been subjected to the accelerated wear associated with high-intensity long-distance commuting, nor the potential degradation from excessive stationary periods often seen in very low-mileage vehicles. Given the absence of any recorded advisories or defects in the DVSA history, there are no specific mechanical warnings regarding structural integrity, corrosion, or component wear to address. On a test drive, the focus should remain on verifying the smooth operation of the electric drivetrain and ensuring the suspension remains composed. Listen for any unexpected knocks or knocks from the suspension linkages when traversing uneven surfaces and check for any steering pull or vibrations through the steering wheel at various speeds, which would indicate issues with wheel alignment or tyre condition not captured by the MOT inspection. The braking system should be evaluated for any signs of binding or pedal judder, particularly during deceleration, to ensure the calipers and discs are performing as expected. While the MOT records do not flag any leaks or fluid issues, a visual inspection of the underbody for any signs of moisture or residue would be a prudent final step. Because the MOT is a snapshot of a specific moment in time, these physical checks will complement the clean electronic record to provide a complete picture of the vehicle's current mechanical state.
