2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD LTD A 3.0L Diesel · KU07 KSP

The most recent MOT test conducted in January 2026 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects. Evaluating the overall maintenance trend, the vehicle shows a stable and improving trajectory. While the history shows advisories regarding play in the rear anti-roll bar ball joints and linkages between 2020 and 2021, these issues do not appear in subsequent inspections from 2022 onwards. This suggests that the necessary suspension components were likely replaced or adjusted, as the vehicle has maintained a clean record for the last several years. With a recorded mileage of 128,756 miles over approximately 19 years, the vehicle has averaged roughly 6,777 miles per year. This usage pattern is consistent with typical annual mileage for a diesel SUV of this class and suggests the vehicle has been used regularly rather than being subjected to long periods of inactivity. This regular usage is mechanically advantageous as it helps prevent the seizing of brake calipers and the excessive corrosion of exhaust components that often plagues vehicles with significantly lower annual mileage. During your physical inspection and test drive, you should pay close attention to the suspension and drivetrain. Although the previous anti-roll bar advisories appear resolved, listen carefully for any rhythmic knocking, clunking, or rattling noises when traversing uneven road surfaces or speed bumps, which could indicate fresh wear in the suspension bushes or ball joints. Additionally, check for any signs of fluid weeping from the engine bay or differential housings. Given the age of the vehicle, it is also prudent to inspect the condition of the brake discs for heavy corrosion and ensure there is no excessive brake shudder during deceleration, which could indicate warped discs or binding calipers. Finally, perform a thorough check of age-related consumables. Inspect the tyres for signs of perishing or sidewall cracking, as rubber components can degrade over time regardless of remaining tread depth. Verify the service history to ensure that time-sensitive maintenance, such as coolant flushes and brake fluid replacements, has been carried out according to manufacturer intervals rather than just mileage. Check the 12V battery health and ensure all electrical accessories operate without fault. Lastly, inspect the vehicle's underside for any significant structural corrosion on the chassis or exhaust system, which is a common consideration for a vehicle of this vintage.
