2018 Ford Kuga 1.5L Petrol · KX18 AGN

This 2018 Ford Kuga has demonstrated consistent roadworthiness through five consecutive MOT tests, each concluding without defects or advisories. The most recent inspection on 24 March 2026 at 50,369 miles confirms no mechanical or structural failings, reinforcing a stable maintenance pattern over the past two years. The absence of recurring advisories or defects across all tests suggests that major components—such as suspension bushes, coil springs, brake calipers, and exhaust systems—have been either replaced or maintained adequately. However, the lack of advisory notes also means no prior warnings about wear patterns, leaving critical areas like subframe integrity, rear axle alignment, or corrosion-prone zones (such as wheel arches and sills) uncommented upon in official records. The mileage progression indicates a steady usage rate of approximately 6,300 miles annually, which aligns with typical expectations for a vehicle of this age. There are no abrupt jumps or prolonged stagnation periods that might suggest neglect or extended storage. The most notable interval is between the 2022 and 2023 tests, where mileage increased by 8,750 miles in just over a year—a rate slightly above the average, though still reasonable. The consistency implies regular driving habits rather than sporadic or extreme usage, which could have accelerated wear on items like brake pads or suspension components. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an in-person inspection of high-wear areas that are not inherently covered by the test. Focus on the suspension’s condition, particularly the rear McPherson strut mounts and front control arms, as these are common failure points in this model. Examine the brake system closely, including rear disc wear and caliper binding, as the MOT does not always detect subtle uneven wear. Structural integrity is another concern—check for corrosion at the wheel arches, sills, and subframe, especially if the vehicle has seen winter salt exposure. Finally, verify the integrity of the exhaust system, particularly at the rear mounting points and for signs of leaks that could indicate cracked pipes or failing hangers. While the MOT record is reassuring, these areas require direct visual and functional assessment.
