2017 KIA Sportage 1.7L Diesel · KY17 EFA

The 2017 Kia Sportage presents a clean roadworthiness status. The most recent test on 23 February 2026 at 75,401 miles passed with no defects recorded, and the maintenance trend across the full history is stable with no advisories or failures at any stage. Annual mileage sits at roughly 8,378 per year against the vehicle's nine-year age, a typical use pattern for this class. The records show steady accumulation: 42,014 miles on 22 February 2022, rising to 56,374 by 3 March 2023, 63,334 on 20 February 2024, 70,067 on 3 March 2025, and 75,401 at the final test. No gaps or sudden jumps appear in the sequence, and the absence of any flagged items across five consecutive passes suggests the previous keeper kept basic servicing and consumable checks current. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake disc thickness given the vehicle's age, as MOT passes with zero advisories do not capture wear below test thresholds. Structural integrity and underbody corrosion should be physically checked, particularly around sills and subframes where standing moisture accumulates on older SUVs. The clean record implies disciplined ownership, but the Sportage is now past major drivetrain and suspension component lifetimes. Verify service history matches the odometer, and confirm timing chain, coolant, and transmission fluid intervals were met outside the MOT scope.
