2001 Renault Megane 1.6L Petrol · KY51 AXJ

This 2001 Renault Megane holds a valid MOT certificate from September 24 2025 at 162,300 miles, demonstrating a generally stable maintenance trend over recent years. The vehicle passed its most recent test with minor advisories for front tyre shoulder wear and surface corrosion on both front MacPherson struts. These recurring strut advisories appear consistently across the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 tests, indicating chronic oxidation that has not yet compromised the structural integrity of the suspension towers. With 162,300 miles accumulated over its 25-year lifespan, the vehicle averages approximately 6,492 miles annually, which aligns with typical UK driving patterns for its age. The mileage accumulation has remained steady and consistent across the recorded history, showing roughly 3,000 to 4,000 miles driven between annual tests from September 2022 to September 2025. This steady usage pattern suggests the car has been kept in regular service without enduring prolonged periods of inactivity or severe high-mileage abuse. A prospective buyer should conduct a thorough physical inspection of the front suspension towers, paying close attention to the depth of the corrosion noted on the MacPherson struts to determine if remedial metal treatment or replacement is soon required. The front tyres flagged at the last test warrant immediate verification for remaining tread depth across the inner and outer edges. Suspension bushes, steering joints, and brake components should also be manually checked for play and wear, given the vehicle's age and high total mileage.
