2025 Volvo XC40 + Black Edition B3 Mhev A 2.0L Hybrid electric (clean) · L12 GAC

The vehicle currently holds a valid roadworthiness status following its most recent MOT test on 24 November 2025 with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend appears stable, despite a singular failure recorded on 4 December 2024. Because the vehicle passed the retest on the same day as the failure, the issue identified was rectified immediately, suggesting a reactive approach to repairs rather than a pattern of mechanical neglect. At a recorded mileage of 38,254 miles, this 2018 Volvo XC40 has averaged approximately 4,782 miles per year. This usage is significantly below the national average for a vehicle of this age. The record shows consistent annual testing with tests performed every December between 2022 and 2024. Such low mileage often indicates less wear on high-stress drivetrain components and engine internalals, though it can also lead to accelerated degradation of rubber components or brake corrosion if the vehicle sat stationary for extended periods between tests. A buyer should physically inspect the specific components that caused the December 2024 failure, as the provided data does not specify the nature of the defect. Given the low annual mileage, it is essential to check for flat spots on the tyres and signs of brake seizing or pitted discs from lack of use. Inspection should also cover the suspension bushes and control arms for cracking, as age-related material fatigue can occur regardless of the low distance driven. Buying score: 72 Risk level: Low.
