2026 Jaecoo 7 Deluxe HEV Auto 1.6L Hybrid electric (clean) · LA14 LAU

This vehicle’s MOT history presents an unusual but ultimately reassuring picture of roadworthiness. The most recent test, conducted on 22 October 2025 at 56,304 miles , passed with no defects—a clean outcome repeated in the 21 October 2024 and 21 October 2023 tests (at 46,751 and 39,005 miles respectively). The sole anomaly is the 2023-10-21 failure , which, despite listing no defects, suggests either a clerical error or a minor oversight corrected before retesting. There is no evidence of recurring mechanical issues, structural corrosion, or deteriorating components over the past three years, indicating stable maintenance or, at worst, intermittent attention to non-critical items. The absence of advisories or defects in recent tests implies the vehicle has either been well-maintained or, given its hybrid powertrain, requires less frequent intervention than conventional petrol/diesel models. Mileage accumulation aligns with typical usage patterns for a vehicle of this age. The 10,553-mile jump between October 2024 and October 2025 (from 46,751 to 56,304 ) suggests moderate but consistent use, while the 7,646-mile increase between October 2023 and 2024 (from 39,005 to 46,751 ) follows a similar trend. The gap between the 2022 test (30,109 miles) and the first 2023 failure (39,005 miles) —a 8,896-mile interval —is slightly longer than the subsequent annual checks, though still within reasonable bounds. Given the vehicle’s 2026 model year , the data remains too sparse to draw firm conclusions about long-term reliability, but the lack of defects or advisories in the past three tests mitigates concerns about excessive wear or neglect. For a prospective buyer, the primary focus should lie in verifying the hybrid system’s health, particularly the battery pack and regenerative braking components , as these are critical yet often overlooked in standard MOTs. While the tests show no defects, hybrid vehicles can develop high-voltage system faults or motor controller issues that may not always trigger MOT failures but could compromise efficiency or safety. A pre-purchase inspection should also check for suspension wear (e.g., coil springs, anti-roll bars) and brake system integrity , given the vehicle’s age and mileage. Pay close attention to exhaust emissions readings , as hybrids can fail if the EV-specific systems are not functioning optimally. Finally, inspect for structural corrosion in high-stress areas, particularly around the rear subframe and wheel arches , where salt or moisture exposure might not yet be visible but could develop over time.
