2011 BMW X3 2.0L Diesel · LC11 XOZ

The vehicle remains roadworthy, having passed its most recent inspection on June 5, 2026. While the maintenance trend appears generally stable, the latest test indicates the first signs of mechanical degradation. The tester flagged both front and rear brake discs as worn, pitted or scored. This shift from the clean records seen between 2023 and 2025 suggests that components are now reaching the end of their service life despite the low mileage. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a fifteen-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 2,018 miles per year. Between June 2022 at 18,724 miles and June 2026 at 30,263 miles, the car covered only 11,539 miles. This low usage often reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, but it frequently leads to the degradation of rubber-based parts and metal surfaces. The consistent annual testing interval suggests the vehicle was maintained despite long periods of stationary use. A buyer should prioritise a physical inspection of the braking system, as the pitting and scoring noted in the 2026 test indicate surface corrosion caused by sitting stationary. Given the low mileage, the tester should also check for perished suspension bushes and cracks in tyre sidewalls, which occur due to age rather than distance. The 2022 restriction regarding child seats obstructing seat belt inspections is a minor administrative note, but the primary focus must remain on the structural integrity of the chassis and the condition of fluid components that degrade over long-term storage.
