2016 Volkswagen Golf 1.6L Diesel · LG16 DVO

The vehicle presents a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistently clean MOT history. The most recent test conducted on August 8 2025 at 50,363 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. This stable maintenance trend across the last five years indicates that the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard without the mechanical degradation or structural corrosion typically seen in older cars. The mileage pattern is remarkably low for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,000 miles per annum. Between the 2021 test at 26,512 miles and the 2025 test at 50,363 miles, the car covered only 23,851 miles. This low usage suggests light mechanical stress, which typically results in less wear on the drivetrain, engine, and braking components. However, the low annual mileage can sometimes lead to age-related degradation of rubber components and fluid breakdown if the vehicle has sat stationary for extended periods. While the digital record shows no recurring faults, a physical inspection should focus on components affected by time rather than distance of use. Inspect the tyres for sidewall cracking and perished rubber, and check the suspension bushes and coil springs for signs of fatigue. Given the low mileage, the buyer should verify the brake discs for surface rust or pitting which often occurs when vehicles are used infrequently. The lack of advisories in the history suggests the structural integrity of the chassis remains well-protected, but a visual check of the underside for early stage corrosion remains standard practice.
