2007 Yamaha Maxam 250 0.2L Petrol · LJ06 ADM

The vehicle is currently roadworthy with no recorded defects in its most recent March 2023 MOT at 10,816 miles. The maintenance trend remains stable, as all four MOT tests from 2019 to 2023 showed no failures or advisories. This consistency suggests the previous owner maintained the bike to DVSA standards, with no emerging mechanical issues requiring urgent attention. The absence of corrosion, brake faults, or suspension defects in the records indicates the vehicle has not been subjected to significant structural or functional stress. The mileage of 10,816 miles over 19 years equates to an average of 569 miles annually, which is exceptionally low. This pattern implies infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate component degradation through fluid stagnation, battery drain, or rubber aging. Notably, the 2020 and 2021 tests both recorded 8,070 miles, suggesting a three-year gap in usage before the bike accumulated 2,746 miles between 2021 and 2023. Such irregularity may indicate the vehicle was stored for extended periods, increasing the risk of hidden issues like seized bearings or oxidized fuel systems. A buyer should inspect the bike’s suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers for signs of binding or wear, as these components can degrade without MOT testing. The low mileage also warrants checking the exhaust system for corrosion, as stagnant operation may have allowed moisture buildup. While the MOT history shows no structural rust or emission failures, the lack of recent testing (over three years since 2023) means critical systems like the drivetrain and electrical components may require closer scrutiny. No advisories in the records suggest no immediate risks, but the vehicle’s age and usage pattern demand a thorough pre-purchase inspection.
