This Polo’s most recent MOT pass in July 2025 came with two warnings that should not be ignored: the parking brake efficiency only just scraped through the test, and the nearside front lower suspension arm bush is worn. The previous day’s failure included an emissions test that could not be completed, so it is worth asking whether that was a machine issue or a vehicle fault that has since been properly resolved. The history reveals a stubborn pattern. Suspension arm bush wear on the front has been flagged every year from 2023 onward, affecting the nearside and, in 2024, the offside. This is not going away and will eventually need repair. Tyre problems also recur. In 2023 the car failed for two front tyres down to the canvas, and rear tyres have been noted as cracking or perishing in three consecutive tests. Even after replacement, an offside front tyre was down to the legal limit again a year later, while rear cracking persists. That suggests either low-quality tyres, an alignment issue linked to the worn bushes, or both. The trend is worsening.
