2015 Toyota Aygo 1.0L Petrol · LL15 CHH

A clean and uninterrupted record of roadworthiness defines this 2015 Toyota Aygo, with five consecutive DVSA MOT tests between March 2022 and October 2025 returning pass certificates and not a single advisory or defect recorded against the vehicle. That is a notably strong outcome for an eleven year old car and indicates that across the most recent testing window the examiner found nothing of sufficient concern to even flag for the buyer or a future tester. The October 2025 pass, achieved at the current recorded mileage of 32,790 miles, confirms that the core safety items which form the backbone of the MOT inspection were in satisfactory condition at that point, and the absence of any recorded advisories in the four prior tests suggests there has been no emerging pattern of deterioration that was being monitored from year to year. Taken together, the trend is one of stable mechanical condition rather than gradual decline. The mileage profile is unusually low for the vehicle's age, with roughly 2,981 miles accumulated per year over its eleven year life, well below the typical annual mileage for a small city car of this type. The recorded progression across the MOT entries shows a gentle and consistent accumulation rather than any sharp jumps, which points to steady light use rather than a change in ownership circumstances or a long dormant period followed by sudden recommissioning. While low annual mileage reduces wear on major mechanical components such as the engine internals, clutch, and gearbox, it can introduce its own considerations, particularly for rubber and elastomeric components that can deteriorate with age regardless of distance covered. Items such as tyre sidewalls, drive belts, hoses, and suspension bushes can all harden or perish over a decade even when they have seen relatively little mechanical stress, so a physical inspection remains worthwhile despite the modest odometer reading. For a prospective buyer, the most useful approach is to treat the clean MOT history as confirmation that the car has not fallen foul of any specific structural, lighting, or braking defect that an examiner has identified, while still conducting a thorough hands on appraisal. A test drive should focus on the suspension, particularly listening for any knocking from the front MacPherson struts, knocking or creaking from the rear axle bushes, and any vagueness or clonking through the steering rack over uneven surfaces, as the Aygo is known to suffer from worn front suspension components with age. The braking system should be checked for a firm pedal feel without excessive travel, and the car should pull up in a straight line without pulling to one side, which would suggest a binding caliper or uneven pad wear. With no recorded advisories on brake disc condition, exhaust integrity, or corrosion, there is no specific item from the MOT history to single out, but a visual inspection underneath the car for any surface corrosion on the underbody, subframe, and brake pipes is sensible given the age. Finally, given the low recorded mileage, particular attention should be paid to signs that suggest the vehicle may have been used more frequently than the odometer implies, such as heavy wear on the driver’s footwell, steering wheel, and seat bolsters, or excessive brake disc lipping and inner edge corrosion that would indicate sustained braking use. The tyres should be examined for even wear across the tread and for any cracking in the sidewalls, as age hardened rubber is a common concern on low mileage vehicles. The engine bay should be checked for any signs of oil misting around the cam cover, deterioration of the coolant and fuel hoses, and the condition of the battery, which can lose cranking performance when a vehicle sees only short, infrequent journeys. A compression check or a short extended road run to confirm the engine reaches full operating temperature cleanly would also be prudent, given the likelihood that many journeys in this car have been short urban trips rather than longer motorway runs that would keep the engine and exhaust system in good working order.
