2011 Toyota Verso 1.8L Petrol · LM11 HVT

The vehicle most recently passed its MOT on 03 July 2026, with the current status being a pass. Looking at the historical data, the maintenance trend appears relatively stable, though there is a noticeable emergence of age-related advisories in the most recent two years. While the 2024 failure was limited to a windscreen wiper, the recent advisories concerning tyre condition and the previous mention of shock absorber oil misting suggest that the vehicle is transitioning from a period of mechanical reliability into a phase where rubber components and suspension elements require closer monitoring. With 75,137 miles recorded over approximately 15 years, this Toyota Verso has averaged roughly 5,000 miles per year. This is considerably lower than the national average, indicating light usage. While this typically implies less wear on the internal combustion engine and gearbox, low-mileage vehicles are susceptible to specific issues arising from infrequent use. These include the degradation of rubber seals, the perishing of tyres due to age rather than tread depth, and the potential for fluid breakdown or battery sulphation if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the tyre advisories. The 2026 advisory regarding cracking or perishing on the offside rear tyre is a significant indicator of age-related rubber degradation. You must inspect all four tyres for sidewall cracking or perishing, even if the tread depth appears sufficient. Furthermore, the 2025 advisory regarding the nearside rear tyre being worn on the edge suggests a possible issue with wheel alignment or suspension geometry. During your test drive, listen for any rhythmic thumping or unevenness in the ride, and check for any steering pull that might indicate the need for a four-wheel alignment. Regarding the suspension, the 2022 advisory for light oil misting on the offside front shock absorber warrants a physical inspection. Check the shock absorber strut for any signs of active fluid leakage; if the misting has progressed to a wet, oily film, the unit is likely nearing the end of its service life and will cause poor damping and increased braking distances. Additionally, because of the low annual mileage, inspect the brake discs for heavy corrosion or pitting and ensure the calipers are not binding due to inactivity. Finally, verify the service history to ensure that oil and coolant changes have been conducted on an annual basis to prevent time-based fluid degradation.
