2016 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Petrol · LO16 BBV

This Volkswagen Golf demonstrates an exceptionally stable maintenance trend and remains roadworthy based on its most recent MOT. The test on 5 December 2025 at 64,974 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This clean bill of health follows a consistent pattern of first-time passes over the previous four years, indicating a vehicle that has been kept in a high state of mechanical repair. The mileage is typical for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 6,497 miles per year. The accumulation has been steady and predictable. Between 6 December 2021 and 8 December 2022, the car covered 8,397 miles. The most recent interval between 19 November 2024 and 5 December 2025 saw a lower increase of 4,059 miles. There are no erratic jumps or long periods of stagnation that would suggest neglect or commercial misuse. The complete absence of advisories since 2021 is rare for a vehicle of this age. The tester flagged no issues with suspension bushes, brake discs, or exhaust emissions across five consecutive years of inspections. This suggests the previous owner adhered to a strict preventative maintenance schedule rather than reacting only to MOT failures. A physical inspection should still focus on common age-related wear that MOT testers might overlook if it does not meet a failure threshold. Check the condition of the tyre treads and the depth of the brake pads. Examine the chassis and sills for surface corrosion, as the MOT record does not explicitly mention structural integrity checks beyond the pass result. Verify the service history to ensure oil changes and timing belt intervals align with the clean MOT record.
