A single recorded advisory regarding a minor exhaust gas leak in the central exhaust system defines the mechanical history of this vehicle, as seen in the passing result from 2 November 2021. Aside from this specific observation, the recorded MOT history shows no other failures or recurring structural or mechanical defects. The absence of further advisories or failures in the subsequent years suggests a relatively stable roadworthiness profile, though the lack of recent testing data beyond that 2021 entry means the current state of the exhaust system and other wear-related components cannot be verified against more recent DVSA inspections. The vehicle has covered 134,283 miles over its eighteen-year lifespan, which equates to an average annual accumulation of approximately 7,460 miles. This usage pattern is consistent with typical long-distance or mixed-use driving for a vehicle of this age. Mechanically, this level of mileage suggests that while the vehicle has not been subjected to extreme high-frequency use, the drivetrain, suspension bushes, and braking components have been exposed to regular operational cycles. The steady accumulation of miles generally implies that components have been worked through their service lives rather than suffering from the degradation associated with long periods of stationary storage. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the exhaust system, specifically focusing on the area identified in the 2021 advisory. During a test drive, listen for any audible hissing, bubbling, or increased engine noise that may indicate the minor leak has progressed into a more significant breach. A larger leak can affect exhaust gas emissions and potentially lead to increased noise levels or uneven engine performance. It is also prudent to inspect the central exhaust section for signs of heavy corrosion or mounting bracket wear that could exacerbate such a leak. Beyond the exhaust, the mileage warrants a thorough inspection of the suspension and steering linkages. Listen for any knocking or clunking sounds when driving over uneven surfaces or speed bumps, which could indicate worn control arm bushes or shock absorber mounts. Given the age and mileage, check for any fluid leaks around the engine and gearbox, and observe the brake pedal feel for any sponginess or vibration that might suggest issues with the braking system or discs. Any signs of significant underside corrosion should also be assessed to ensure the structural integrity remains intact.
