2016 Vauxhall Mokka 1.6L Diesel · LX16 GHD

The 2026‑06‑15 MOT at 60,139 miles resulted in a failure, meaning the Vauxhall Mokka is presently not roadworthy due to multiple defects, including worn and pitted front and rear brake discs, severely deteriorated suspension arm ball‑joint dust covers, and a near‑side rear tyre with a cut reaching the ply. Compared with the June 2025 pass at 59,063 miles, the recent test shows a clear worsening trend, with new suspension failures and tyre damage that were not recorded previously. The mileage has increased from 41,325 miles in March 2021 to 60,139 miles in June 2026, averaging roughly 6,000 miles per year, which is typical for a 2016 model. The short interval between the June 2025 and June 2026 tests suggests accelerated wear on consumables such as tyres and suspension components, while earlier periods show more regular one‑year intervals with modest mileage gains. A buyer should inspect the condition of the front and rear suspension arm ball joints and their dust covers, as repeated deterioration indicates potential binding or failure. The brake discs, though not seriously weakened, require assessment of pad thickness and disc surface integrity. The near‑side rear tyre’s cut warrants immediate replacement, and the off‑side rear fog lamp lens defect should be verified as non‑functional. Any signs of structural rust or corrosion on the chassis should also be examined given the vehicle’s age and mileage.
