2006 Ford Transit 2.4L Diesel · ME06 BXJ

The 2006 Ford Transit presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 16 January 2026 at 49,482 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean MOT outcomes across the available history. Recorded mileage stands at 49,482 against an age of nearly twenty years, equating to roughly 2,474 miles per year. The DVSA entries show gentle accumulation: 43,800 miles in December 2021, 45,992 in December 2022, 47,348 in January 2024, 49,042 in December 2024, and 49,482 in January 2026. No test gaps exceed thirteen months and no rapid accumulation appears. The sparse, fault-free record gives little basis to suspect skipped maintenance, though long idle periods implied by low annual use warrant scrutiny. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and corrosion, particularly chassis rails and sills where Transit vans of this era degrade if stored outdoors. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs deserve hands-on checks for perishing from standing rather than wear. The absence of advisories across five tests means no recurring mechanical faults trace through the record. Verify the odometer against service stamps and confirm the vehicle has not been laid up with seized calipers or flat-spotted tyres before relying on it for load carrying.
