2012 Ford Fiesta 1.4L Diesel · MK12 ACY

The 2012 Ford Fiesta with 153,399 miles shows a stable roadworthiness trend based on its most recent MOT, conducted on 2023-11-14 at 153,399 miles, which recorded no defects. Previous tests from 2022-11-12 (139,260 miles) and 2021-11-03 (133,053 miles) also passed without issues, though a duplicate entry for 2022-11-12 notes a failure at 139,266 miles with no defects recorded. This suggests either a data inconsistency or a minor non-critical failure. The vehicle’s maintenance history lacks recurring mechanical faults, indicating consistent upkeep. However, the 2.5-year gap since the last MOT raises concerns about potential undetected wear, particularly in components like suspension bushes or brake discs. The mileage of 153,399 miles over 14 years equates to an average of 10,957 miles annually, aligning with typical usage for this age. MOT records show regular testing every 12 months, with no significant gaps or spikes in mileage accumulation. The 2020-10-23 test at 128,565 miles and subsequent 2021-11-03 test at 133,053 miles indicate steady usage, though the 2022-11-12 test at 139,260 miles was followed by a 139,266-mile failure entry, which may reflect a minor oversight or procedural error. The absence of advisories or critical defects in the latest tests suggests the vehicle has been maintained to a baseline standard, but age-related wear remains a risk. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for worn coil springs or bushings, which are common in older Fords, and check brake discs for uneven wear or corrosion. The exhaust system and underbody should be scrutinized for rust, particularly in areas prone to road salt exposure. While the MOT history shows no major issues, the 2.5-year gap since the last test means a pre-purchase inspection is essential to confirm the condition of high-mileage components like the drivetrain and steering linkage. No recurring faults are evident, but the vehicle’s age necessitates a thorough mechanical evaluation to identify latent issues.
