2018 Vauxhall Astra 1.0L Petrol · MK68 AEP

The Vauxhall Astra presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent DVSA test on 23 August 2025 at 58,929 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Across five consecutive annual tests from 2021 to 2025 the vehicle cleared every examination without a single advisory or failure, indicating consistent mechanical condition and no worsening pattern of wear. The mileage record shows light annual use for an eight-year-old car. The August 2021 test logged 24,693 miles, rising to 29,512 by August 2022, 37,107 by August 2023, 41,195 by August 2024, and 58,929 by August 2025. The final year saw a 17,734-mile jump against prior yearly averages near 5,000 to 8,000 miles, suggesting either a change of owner or a period of heavier commuting. Prior to that the low accumulation implies the car stood unused for stretches, a pattern that can hide perished rubber components. With no historical flags on suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, binding calipers, exhaust emissions, or structural corrosion, the MOT data alone gives no cause for concern. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of underbody structural integrity and brake condition, as the 2025 mileage surge may have accelerated consumable wear not yet due for test. Verify the service history matches the sudden 2024 to 2025 mileage increase. The clean advisory sheet means previous keepers attended to basics before each test. The absence of tyre or wiper blade notes across all entries points to proactive upkeep rather than deferred maintenance.
