2023 Ford Puma ST-Line X Mhev 1.0L Petrol · MS65 LLE

The 2023 Ford Puma ST-Line X MHEV with 27,735 recorded miles has achieved a clean pass at its most recent DVSA MOT test on 2026-06-08, with no defects or advisories recorded. This represents a stable maintenance record, as there is no prior MOT history provided to indicate any prior failures or recurring issues. The vehicle’s absence of any recorded defects or advisories over its current MOT cycle suggests that, thus far, it has maintained roadworthiness without significant mechanical or safety-related problems. The lack of prior testing means no prior advisories or conditional passes would have been noted, but the current clean result is a positive indicator for prospective buyers seeking a well-maintained vehicle of this age and mileage. The vehicle’s mileage of 27,735 miles over approximately three years corresponds to an annual usage rate of around 9,245 miles, which is within the expected range for a modern, well-used Puma in the UK market. This level of mileage is neither unusually high nor low for a three-year-old car, particularly if it has been operated under mixed conditions—including potential periods of light use or storage. Higher mileage could accelerate wear on consumables such as brake pads, suspension components, and fluid systems, while lower mileage might suggest reduced exposure to aggressive driving or prolonged stationary periods, which can lead to issues like standing corrosion in brake systems or fluid degradation from stagnation. For this vehicle, the mileage profile does not inherently suggest rapid wear, but a thorough inspection should account for both usage-related and calendar-based aging factors. Given the vehicle’s age and the clean MOT result, prospective buyers should conduct a comprehensive physical inspection to address both mileage-related wear and time-based degradation. First and foremost, examine the tyres for signs of sidewall cracking or perishing, which can occur even at moderate mileages due to prolonged exposure to UV light and temperature fluctuations. Check the tread depth uniformly across all four tyres, ensuring no excessive wear patterns indicative of misalignment or suspension issues, and verify that the tyre pressures are within manufacturer specifications. Next, inspect the brake system for any signs of corrosion or binding, particularly around the brake discs and calipers, as standing for extended periods can lead to rust buildup and reduced braking performance. Listen for any unusual grinding or squeaking when applying the brakes, and test the pedal feel for firmness and consistency—binding calipers or warped discs may cause a spongy or uneven brake response. Additionally, focus on the fluid systems, paying particular attention to the engine oil, transmission fluid, and coolant. Given the vehicle’s age and the potential for prolonged periods without fluid changes, check for any signs of contamination, sludge buildup, or excessive fluid loss. The 12V battery should be tested for voltage output and overall health, as older batteries can fail unexpectedly, leading to starting issues or electrical system failures. Finally, verify that the service book or maintenance records are up to date, particularly for the MHEV system components, which may require specific attention to hybrid battery health and charging efficiency. A thorough test drive should include checks for any suspension clunks or uneven ride quality, which could indicate worn suspension bushes or coil springs, and monitoring for exhaust emissions for any unusual smells or backpressure, which might signal catalytic converter or exhaust manifold issues. If any of these areas show signs of concern, further diagnostic testing or professional inspection may be warranted to ensure the vehicle remains safe and reliable.
