2012 Lexus RX450H 3.5L Hybrid electric · MT61 VPN

The vehicle presents a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistent history of clean passes. The most recent inspection on 15 May 2026 at 72,719 miles resulted in no recorded defects or advisories. This indicates a stable maintenance trend over the last three years, suggesting that the mechanical and structural components have been maintained without the recurring failures often seen in luxury SUVs of this age. The mileage profile is notably low for a 2012 Lexus, averaging approximately 5,200 miles per annum. The data shows a significant gap in usage between February 2024 at 64,937 miles and February 2025 at 70,495 miles, followed by a more recent increase of 2,223 miles between the February 2025 and May 2026 tests. While the low annual mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and braking system, the periods of relative inactivity between tests can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and fluid seals. Because the MOT record shows no flagged mechanical faults, a physical inspection should focus on areas typically susceptible to low-mileage aging. A buyer should check for sidewall cracking on tyres and the condition of suspension bushes which may perish from lack of use. Given the vehicle's age, verifying the state of the hybrid battery cooling fans and checking for surface corrosion on the underbody is essential, as these elements are not covered by standard MOT structural checks until they reach a failure point.
